Rhazzmatazz 2007

Dear all,

It the time of the year again we will be having our bi-annual cultural event, Rhazz Matazz 2007. The event is on 27th (Tue) February 2007 7.30pm at UCC. We will be blocking 30+ seats for alumni. Please contact Cai Yuan at u0408714@nus.edu.sg.

In conjunction with the event, Alumni Affair Committee will be organizing CultuRH-ex which serves its purpose as a preview of Rhazz and a platform for alumni and residents to exchange pointers. The alumni tea will be shifted to that day also instead of the first Sunday.

Another event which is coming up will be DnD. I will update you all more on the details once I got the full information from the DnD head. See you all again soon.

NEW!!! Monthly Based Alumni Tea Session

Dear all,

Let me introduce to you all the new monthly based Alumni Tea Session!!! =)

We are going to have informal tea session once in every month to serve as a platform for alumni gathering. There will not be any special program unless being requested. For a better reason for alumni to gather, we will invite specify groups every tea session so that you will know that is for specially you and of course for everyone else as well. So you can expect your friends who share a common 'identity' with you will come back.

The first two groups that will come together will be alumni handball team and alumni choir group. Do come down to meet you fellow friends in handball team and also choir group. As for other alumni, please also come back to check out the handball team and choir group that Raffles Hall always proud of.

Date : 5th November 2006
Time : Tea Time 415pm
Place: Raffles Hall Comm Hall

As a forecast for the upcoming event, we will also have another alumni event - Alumni Sports Carnival during december in conjunction with the IHG training. I will update you all again on the date when the time comes.

Raffles Hall Concert 2006

Dear Alumni,

It is with great pleasure that we invite you to our annual concert production entitled “Swingers”!

This year, we will be having THREE shows! We therefore seriously urge all alumni to attend this event together. It will be on the 27th and 28th of October (Friday and Saturday) at 7:30 pm for the evening show and 2:30 pm for the matinee. Tickets are priced between S$12 and S$15. To cater to your needs, we have reserved seats especially for you, but even these are limited, so get your tickets as soon as possible!

The summarized details of Concert 2006 are as follows:

Event : Raffles Hall Annual Concert Production 2006 – Swingers!

Venue : University Cultural Centre - NUS

Date : 27th (Friday) & 28th (Saturday) October

Time : 7:30pm for evening show on both days and 2:30pm for Saturday matinee

The Raffles Experience 0607 will be held from Saturday, 29 July – 12 Aug 2006. Orientation activities will be organised from 11 am – 11pm daily.

I would like to invite you to join us for the following major events:

Raffles Day

Date: Saturday, 5 Aug 2006
Time: 12.30 noon @ Sentosa, Tanjong 1
BBQ will commence at 6.00pm

Raffles Day is a day for Rafflesians to relax at the sunny beaches of Sentosa. All Rafflesians – Alumni, SCRC and residents are invited to participate in this event. Through a relaxed environment, this event aims to promote interaction between all Rafflesians. As Raffles Day is on a weekend, it is also a family day for those with families.

It will be a free and easy day where Rafflesians will be treated to a sumptuous barbeque dinner at night. The residents can enjoy leisure activities such as playing volleyball and Frisbee while others can picnic at the beach.

Rag Day

Date: Saturday, 12 Aug 2006
Time: 9.30am @ SRC Track

The annual Raffles Hall Float will be displayed during Rag Day. It is a time where Rafflesians see the fruits of their hard work parading in front of hundreds of people.

Raffles Experience 2006/07

Dear all,

After the long long vacation that we had, it is now time for Raffles Experience again. Hmm, I am currently trying to get the information from the RHOCers... hopefully I can get it as soon as possible and post it here.

For primary information, RE starts on the 29th july 2006 until 12th august 2006. This year I can see that they had put in a lot of efforts so I hope that the seniors as well as alumni (if you all are free to drop by) can try to help as much as we can to make it a succes...

Welcome to Raffles Hall Alumni Blog!!!

Dear all,

First, let me welcome everyone to in this new virtual noticeboard for Raffles Hall Alumni or I should call you all tRHex...=P

Let me first touch on the objective of having this blog. The main purpose of the blog will be as noticeboard for alumni and also as a platform of ideas exchange in the shootout box. This is to enable us, the residents of RH to get to know what alumni think in the fastest way and most fashionable way...=P

Previously we are using yahoo group but it seems not that effective as alumni don't really response in the group itself but no worry, I will still supervise and post in the yahoo group. Hopefully this blog will serve the communication purpose better in that sense. There is a chinese saying, 'we can't clap with one hand'. I totally agree with that and of course response from alumni can be very encouraging for me and my team (Alumni Affair Committee).

Blog will be a very informal way to communicate. Hopefully everyone is like this way. We will try to update everything that is going to happen in hall here 1 month in advance so that the tRHex will be able to know and join the event if you all can.

Personally, I really like Mr. Lim Eng Hai's idea of tRHex.... well, I am now one too...lolx... Thanks a lot for people like Mr. Lim Eng Hai, Prof Lim Kwanghui, Mr. Adam Awyong, Mr. Wong Fu Onn and many more in making alumni and residents connection more possible. I really appreciate they effort in doing whatever within their means. And also thanks for the encouragement. =)

To me, alumni affair committee is not just a hall activity. It is more of personal passion that putting alumni and residents into the picture of Raffles Hall as HOME. Without alumni, there is no RH as it is going to be a place to sleep only. To me personally, because of RH, I learned a lot of things...I picked up handball in RH (3 cheers to handball...=P) and that is the hall spirit that bond us together. And I hope alumni can really help in putting the spirit into the residents as well because I feel that the passion for hall is dying in the current residents.

Aiya, looks like I talked too much again. Please take this blog as an informal thingy as I will always crack jokes here...knowing or unknowingly...=P After this, my committee member will take over and post things like events update and also IHG result for all the tRHex.

Please feel free to comment on the committee or me if you have anything you wish to say about the way we do things. Feedback is much appreciated. Ok la, I shall stop here... See you all more often in hall in the near future....
